The H7 version of the projector is the exact same as the D3S/D2S, and that's all I meant to clarify. Sure there are differences in OEM HID or halogen projectors, I.E. Ford OEM F150 projectors vs say the low beam projectors in the Ford Fusion but there is no difference with these. You cannot put Halogens in the D3S/D2S w/ Morimoto harness setup but you can put HID or Halogen in the H7 version. I don't get what's so difficult here.
Ok, I called spyder today and talked to Tech support, John. I asked the question if the projector lenses are the same and he did say YES. I told him we were having a discussion about this on a forum so I didn't want to post any false info here. I was not confused or bashing the halogen set at all but did not know for sure if there was any difference in the lenses. He did not recommend using aftermarket HID kit with the halogen but does not know enough about them. Most of the HID kits I did find for the h7 said for off road use only, but there may be some out there that are fine. I see some say you need a relay or anti-flicker and some not. I just used the OEM guts to have the same possible setup as I could and am very happy with it. I know no one has bright lighted me or complained, so the H7 HID KIT may be fine and then it might be like some of the folks I would like to kick their lights out as they blind the heck out of me. Maybe someone has already tried it. I would like to see it and compare because my output and cutoff is really good.

Mine will be done this weekend and I'll post some photos up, and compare them to an OEM set on my dads '13 FX4. The H7 kit in the halogen set just takes more wiring, and I know I should've went with the HID ready set, and I recommend everyone to do that since there is a harness already available, but no one could give me an ETA for purchase. I'm using the same quality harness you guys are using, everything is from TRS! Even if I went with the HID ready model I would've gone with Morimoto ballasts and bulbs because I don't have the OEM ones laying around.

Thanks, the pics to compare will be great. some of the guys had issues with their harness, but TRS replaced them. The OEM bulbs and ballast took a bit to get as I ordered mine from bilinvics retro fits that was posted earlier in this thread. They were like $200 bucks but I did it on the spur of the moment. I used a little Dielectric grease on all my connections except the bulb to ballast. so far I have washed and been in rain and no problems yet as some have and they used the grease and seem to be ok for now. TRS warranties the harness for like 18 months I believe. Make sure you are on level ground when you go to adjust your lights as they are a pain, that is the biggest issue and you have the luxury of your dads truck to help with the 25' alignment. Looking forward to seeing yours done.

Sorry again to everyone if I ruffled some feathers, my delivery could use some work.
My truck is overall 5.5" taller than my dads, so I'll have to use some geometry to make sure the cutoff line is exact. I'll also have to wait until night to get some real good comparison photos.

No problem, we are all here to help and learn from one another. I am far from being any kind of expert, but everyone has been very helpful here and we all have learned from one anothers experiences and feedback. From what i understand if I am correct, you will still end up with the same potential height cutoff that will keep you lights just under the average cars mirrors of 36" or less from behind them at 25 feet. I believe a honda civics mirrors at the bottom are right at that.

I didn't get a chance to install the kit over the weekend because the harness didn't show up until Monday, but here are some output photos and the cutoff, which still needs adjusting. Right now they are adjusted a little lower than they should be and the projectors aren't lined up exactly horizontally but it was raining and I needed to get back to school.
This weekend I plan to do side by side output photos and cut off lines with my Dad's OEM set.

Cutoff line on garage door with XB LED fogs on.

Low beams going down hill.

Low beams in a neighborhood.

High beams in the same neighborhood (slight uphill).

BC119 looks really good. Ours are very close to being aligned the same. I kinda have that black spot too in the middle toward the left on low beams as my left is lower than my right. Let me know which way you go up or down with each side. My pics were crappy as I needed to just find a level spot and stop to take. Were your adjustments the opposite too of what it shows on the light as far as up and down? I haven't moved mine left or right yet if you have are those the opposite of what it shows too?

Yeah I noticed that. Both headlights needed to be turned down for the beam pattern to come up, and when turning down you can visibly see the projector moving up. I would assume the left/right adjustment is also switched, but I didn't touch those because I was aligning it quickly.
As for the black spot I'm not sure what that could be, I'm pretty sure the bulbs were put in rift side up. Both of mine have it.

carid,
I have these spyder lights and there seems to be a malfunction in the wiring.
The passenger side parking light stays at full brightness (you know how bright the light is when it is signaling). How do we get replacement parts as I am sure I just need to replace the little black box on the back of the housing?
