Its my understanding these are tied to the truck once you use it the first time. Is that not true?

Not true. Works similar to a tuner, in that it can only be used on one truck at a time. The truck has to be returned to stock to use on another one.

I will un-marry the calibrator from my truck when it sells, unlocking it to be used on a different one.
