Something's not jiving with the pictures. Do you have dimensions on the sub box? The mount brackets look different from your first picture to the installed picture on the previous page. Sorry but I'm having troubles wrapping my head around it. Is there a cover on the top that is held on with a screw or is that the whole box as 1 piece?

Ok, so is there a cover that goes on the back with the contour under the seat or is it all one piece?

Anyone here can correct me...
BUT.... You CAN replace the sub only to the kicker sub and it's a world of difference! I did it & many others have too.
I just installed the complete kit in my sons truck as he does not have the Sony system. I believe the major difference is that the wiring harness of the kicker compete system (with the additional amp that powers the door speakers) will NOT plug into the back of the touchscreen radio.
The complete kit plugs (or piggies/"Y"s) into the base radio systems (not the SONY & not the base "analog type" radios) and it then "Y"'s off to a new amp that gets bolted under the DVR side dash. There will be 2 power cables to route thru the firewall to the positive fuse box location.
The other power cable then powers the sub(which has the other amp) that powers the new kicker sub. The signal is then plugged back into the wiring harness that is plugged into the back of the radio.
The Sony radios does not have the wiring set up designed for this. So again, just get the "sub only" for your Sony system & it gets its signal from 2 of the front speaker wires. If you want a little clarity from your Sony door speakers, you can simply get a set of kicker, Polk, infinity, etc. door speakers only.
FYI: the Sony sub does NOT put out 700watts, which many think. Definitely false advertising!
The kicker sub puts out 400watts- and it designated all for the sub!
