Rancho Quicklifts:

Great Shock as it lifts the truck 2" Straight outta the box. Completely assembled and ready to install. These Ranchos also have the adjustability to DIAL in your choice of ride control. From Soft to Stiff.

BILSTEIN 5100's

Great Shock as well as you have the choice to leave it STOCK or bring it up to 2.6" (Vehicle height / Options may Vary). These shocks are known to be the one best shocks in the industry and found on ALOT of sponsored offroad trucks carry the Bilstein name. The engineers and the internal vavling is what sets the Bilstein apart from the crowd. The shocks are matched to the weight of the vehicle and matches the stock spring rate perfectly. Giving you the best ride control on or off road.

BOTH shocks are better than STOCK, as they BOTH lift the trucks, Reduces Body roll while cornering, Nose Dive, and great for Towing. Take advantage of either setup in the option for the COMPLETE set. Some customers will order just the fronts and feel that it made a BIG difference while the back is hoppin' around and feeling spongy or soft.

Price Point. Ranchos are $539 & Bilsteins are $345 with the F150FORUM discount. The DIYer's will be easier on the Ranchos due to the QUICKLIFT design as the Bilsteins will require a spring compressor. The higher price is because you have Springs & Upper strut mount and is ready to go. BUT if you have a mechanic install EITHER the labor rate should still be the same.

Forum reviews: This is a tough one. For the F150's it's a 50/50 between the Ranchos and Bilsteins. ALOT of great reviews from this forum on both of them. Tap Auto Parts has been selling alot of BOTH. It's either you Dial in your comfort ride or Set it and forget it with the Bilsteins. You can't go wrong on either brand. If that decision makes it harder they BOTH come with a LifeTime Warranty and BOTH in stock! I think it will all fall into price point. You will NOT fail in choosing either brand. Tap Auto Parts sells BOTH brands and cannot be brand loyal to either but can help you make your decision based on your needs.

Hello Tap. I have a 2012 FX4 Screw and I'm looking to put some 295/60/20 size tires on my truck so I'll need a 2"-2.25" leveling kit to do so. Having said that, money is a little bit of a concern so I was going to go with a Hell Bent Steel 2" leveling kit. However, after I keep reading things I keep going back to the idea that a Bilstein or Rancho kit would suit me better. I run A LOT of highway miles and am on construction projects all day long. So, I need a nice ride but functional, as well.

I think I should do all four wheels, if I'm going to do it. So, can you please let me know how much for a set of 4 bilstein's and how much for a set of 4 rancho's? You can PM me if you'd like. Shipping would be to zip code 80634.

Thanks!

Thanks for the reply,

5100's/Set for 1 Click Shipping is $345.00/Shipped. I would recommend the full set because it would set off balance of Good and Bad shocks. i.e. Valving. Rear shocks are B/O until mid-dec. We are taking orders as it's not that far from being delivered to our warehouse.

Rancho's:

You can't go wrong with either of them.

PricePoint = Bilstein wins!

With either Kit you decide this will eliminate any lift spacer and should increase wheel travel vs. take away from it.

Wow! So the Rancho's are $715 for the set? I wouldn't even come close to considering that. I realize you have to compress the spring for the Bilsteins, but no way it would offset the cost of a drop-in spring/shock unit.

How long do they usually take to install, if you have a suspension shop put them on? I don't have a spring compressor so I'd rather not mess with it.

How much for only the front set delivered to me?

THANKS!

Don't forget to use the promocode F150forum to see the discount of both brands.

If you are paying labor for someone to do it it should be the same for either brand. The ranchos are made so you can do it yourself with normal hand tools. Comes completely setup so you don't have to use a spring compressor.

Bilsteins are cheaper since they re use your factory spring and have to use a spring compressor.

Mechanics usually charge the same labor rate for both. Just make sure they treat you right
