Spoke with my local installer yesterday and they will not install a kit that I bring to them. Bummer. They price-matched, but the sales tax is what I wanted to avoid. Either way, I think they are giving me a fair shake on the kit and install for $2900 OTD before rebate. Wish I had access to a shop for a couple days and I could do it myself, just not in the cards Keep up the good work TAP, I'll be coming back when I am ready to purchase some more goodies for the truck. Fantastic customer service wins me over more than anything else.
Kit price is what from TAP, $2100 total before rebate? That leaves 800ish for labor? It really can't take 8 hours for a fully staffed shop to do it? Any idea what their hourly rates were?

Shop won't install the kit unless you buy it from them? Wow. You can do a lot of these kits at home if you have the weekend.

Shop rate is $120/hr and they are the only game in town. I could drive 2-3hrs to another installer, but they are asking the same price and I would be spending extra gas money to get there.
If I had an area where I could take this thing apart over a weekend, I don't think I would have any problems doing it myself. But I don't have access to a location that is suitable. So I will swallow my $2500 bill after the rebate and try not to choke on it.
I don't get a lot of time off from work, so paying someone to do it for me is worth it. Since I can go play while they are working on the truck. Working in the oil exploration industry has it's perks (killer $$$) and downsides (no schedule whatsoever and short breaks between wells).
They are charging ~$800 for the install and alignment, the sales tax is what is killing me. I live in AR and our sales tax might as well be termed robbery, as the local tax rate where the shop is located is 10.75% Gotta love regressive taxation. At least I can afford it, many people in my area just scrape by from paycheck to paycheck.
Again, thanks for the killer customer service TAP. I was impressed with your communication after the sale and that is what counts to me. I'll be back for something else soon enough

You are most likely referring to 4wheel concepts and that is who will be doing the work for me. I know we have a couple other options locally, but I wouldn't let the guys in those shops put gas in my truck, so 4wheel is basically my only option. I have not heard good things, nor had good experiences in the past with the other local accessory shops. I spoke with several different shops within a 150mile radius and they all seem to charge the same for install and the other shops would not haggle on the price of the kit. Oh well, I just want my lift.

Good to hear you were happy with their work. I'm now here to help make that even better, so when you start getting the mod bug again, shoot me a PM and I'll set you up with a great deal.

Sounds great. TAP seems like a very stand-up retailer from my experience so far, have nothing but good things to say about them. After-sale service really isn't that hard, but sooooo many online retailers just collect your money and eventually your item shows up. Maybe. An email here or there to let the customer know what's happening with their order goes so far to winning repeat business that I can't believe how many operations drop that ball like a hot rock.
Good luck with the new gig!

5000 series is the standard Rancho lift kit shock. Its got a decent ride to it. The 9000 series is an upgrade from the 5000 in terms of build quality and components, and it is also dampening adjustable allowing you to dial in the ride to your liking with just the turn of a ****.
