I'm gonna be in Thomasville Ga Monday night and i was gonna run down and spend the night in Tallahassee then head to the beach early Tuesday morning but after looking at reviews apparently Wakulla Beach is a ghost town as is most of that area. Would it be worth the extra distance to go all the way down to Carrabelle? Any suggestions? I went to Destin and PCB a few weeks ago and that was my first trip to the pan handle so i'm not very familiar with that region. Any help is welcome.

Im in Tally
Pass by Wakulla and head to St george Island...nice state park..you could stay the night near there otherwise it is a day trip from Tally and back. Also a great place for oysters and seafood...ya know...Apalachicola Oysters...tonged right there. If you stay in Tally I like the shell oyster bar but Barnacle Bills is more of a scene with bands and later eating

Is there a difference in the scene between Carrabelle and St. George Island? This trip is free as long as i don't go much past Wakulla. Anything past that is out of pocket lol

Carabelle is nice but not really much of a beach around...This area is a 180 from Destin....Destin is touristy this is more local Tallahassee types and other locals.. That said there is a beach closer in wakulla Alligator Point...not as nice though really more of a place to just see the gulf...nice white sandy beach at St George though....90 miles
