Just for your info Florida has changed a lot. If you have been gone fifteen years you probably wouldn't recognize South Florida. Ever since hurricane Andrew, Borward County has become almost like Dade and it's becoming more and more like Dade everyday. I'm guessing in another ten years, you will need to know Spanish to live in Broward. Once you get north of Palm Beach County it's a different world. I have lived in Ft Lauderdale for 35 years and it has completely changed and not for the better!

he lived here for 15 years and moved away about a year ago lol
but i totaly agree i live in Dade and everyone thinks you need to speak to them in spanish. I am Cuban i speak spanish fluently and everyone that speaks to me in spanish instead of at least trying english gets a response in english. My grandmother tries to at least speak english to people and she came here from Cuban as an adult with 2 kids. She understands this is the US not Cuba and not everyone speak spanish.

I am slowly learning Spanish, the last few times I've been to Miami, I was in a Publix and a Walgreens and neither of the clerks could speak English. They looked at me like I was wrong for not fluently speaking Spanish. I do give credit to the Cubans who at. Least try to learn English and kudos to the ones who do speak English. Unfortunately they are the minority. I love going to Miami, but it gets harder and harder.

I avoid Miami as much as possible. My father was with the Metro-Dade (now Miami-Dade) PD for 34 years. He taught me two things; Know two ways to get to where you want to go down there and never go down there without a gun.
