Also, my engine light is coming on and there's a few minor electric issues with it. (Dome light doesn't come on, odometer light comes on and off at various times).
Search through the forum some in the 97-03 section and you might find the solution to some of your problems for electrical.

The odometer issue is very common in these trucks. It's caused by a faulty solder joint on the PCB of your gauge cluster. Simple fix, if you can work a soldering iron. The dome light I'm guessing is due to a bad ground, try popping the plastic cover off and make sure all the screws are in tight and make sure the bulbs aren't bad.

Here soon this spring I'll be removing my window motor so I can rebuild it, I got a rebuild kit from rock auto. Only $10 for the kit, and it's a straightforward thing to do. Simple. So I'll obviously have to remove my window motor to do so. Just drill the three dimples in the door shell where the window motor is, and then unbolt the motor and remove it through the speaker hole. Make sure you securely tape up your glass otherwise it'll fall down into the door and more than likely break. Now my question for you is, are you replacing just the motor or the window motor and the window regulator?

Engine light. Have you had it checked for codes? What are the codes?

Also feel free to send me a PM for more questions. I'll do the best I can to answer them.

I'm planning on replacing the window motor and regulator. I also have to get a switch for the button too, seeing as how the button assembly is bad, but from what I understand that's simply pulling the plug out and reconnecting it to the new box.

Ahh okay. Yeah the window regulator takes a bit more work to do. What's your window currently do when you try to roll it up or down?

And yeah the switch is a really easy swap.

It does nothing. When I first got it, the buttons used to make the classic click noise, but now they make no noise at all. I've read that's a classic indication of a faulty/defective switch.

The automatic locks no longer work either, but I've heard you can fix those easily while repairing the regulator.

Ahh okay. Yeah that's a bad switch. What you might want to do is run over to a salvage yard and grab switches off a truck there, I personally would get ones even if i don't need them. Id rather have them and not need them than need them and not have them. And the automatic locks not working is probably just a bad lock actuator, I think that's what it's called.

Yeah, I thought about picking some up. Thanks for the suggestion about the salvage yard.

Out of curiosity, have you even installed a window motor and regulator before? If so, mind showing a newb the ropes?

I personally haven't but I know what all needs to be done based off YouTube videos. If you're just doing the window motor, that's easy, piece of cake. I'll be doing my driver side window motor because I'm going to be rebuilding it, but all that's needed to be done for the window motor is drill three dimple spots on the door shell, it's underneath the plastic rain jacket that's over the door under the door panel. So you just drill those three dimples then you make sure your window glass is taped up so it doesn't fall down into the door and break. Get tape and put it at the top of the glass and put it over the top edge of the door, inside and outside of the door -do this when you're replacing both the motor and regulator as well. Then unbolt the motor and remove it through the speaker hole. The window regulator just requires a few more bolts to be undone and In pretty sure there's a few more dimples to drill but not positive. Look up on the forum or Google how to replace window regulator Ford F-150 and you should be able to find something that helps. I don't know all the steps off the top of my head.
