If you have one that picks up the connector, you dont need to program anything. You need to dial in the brake controller to what you are towing. What year is the truck, what is the motor, did it have a connector to pick up the brake controller?

It's a 2011 and there was already a plug-in for the controller, just needed to hook it up. It doesn't show up in the display and from what I've read it needs to be programed for it to be recognized.
