ahhh, I remember those days...and I don't miss 'em. I ended school and got on work 2 years ago...don't think I can go back again.
so my guess is - tell me when your vacation time from school is, we can go then
and where's the closest place?

I've got a strap. It would be great if someone had a winch. Also I set up my own cat back exhaust. Short headers to the stock y pipe and cats then a 3" tube to a Summit baffled muffler then a 3" turnout. Sounds nice with a low rumble at idle and little drone. The headers leak a little at the joint so I'm going to change the connector. Of course this is on a 90 5.0 so I'm not sure how relevant it is to you.

ha, I'm just jaded...
back on the east coast, had a 2wd long bed '91 ranger - I was better getting through snow and loose sand with a corolla than that POS
I tried to drive through a puddle and got stuck...
we tried placing 2x4's under the wheel, we put a 280lb guy in the bed (and he jumped up and down on it) to get traction, and she still wouldn't come out...
we had to get a 4x4 F-150 to pull her out
my next truck was 4wd, and I couldn't get it stuck if I wanted to...

Definitely no beating a 4x4, but there is quite a bit of difference between a ranger and an F150 especially with limited slip or locking rear and a nice set of tires. I go up to big bear mostly. There is also the off road area at Gorman. Or in San diego.

Why would we want something smaller and less powerful? A truck could drag that thing up behind it. Not to mention pull it free when its stuck. I don't think that little guy is going to move even a stock f150 or Bronco if it was stuck.
