What should I expect for gas mileage?
I am planning a short trip and trying to figure fuel costs. I am in Canada, in a US truck [I imported this one] so I want to figure it in MPG. It is a 2010 F-150, 2 wheel drive, extended cab, 6.5 foot box, 4.6 with 4 speed automatic.
The Canada Transport book says 20 city, 27 highway MPG Sometimes the dash says I am averaging 17.5, but hopefully it can't be that bad!
What should I [really] get on the highway?

What l would do is look up your truck on a U.S. website and see what mileage it should get. I find the U.S. rating system is a lot closer to what you'll get than the Canadian one. I know this doesn't answer your question, but l hope it helps.

I'm pretty sure that when Transport Canada converts it's fuel economy calculations into MPG they go with the Imperial gallon, because even with they outdated testing cycles that they use, theres no way that a vehicle could hit those numbers. I could be wrong though. It's just that my F-150 will get the U.S. MPG ratings, not the 30MPG that Transport Canada says it could.
