You say you don't want to deal with the hassle of switching tires. Don't know how it works in Canada, but I know that in the US if I buy tires from Discount Tire, they will do a free swap each year of snow to regular and back again (on rims). So the only effort would be in loading the 4 snows into the bed, driving there (for my appointment), and unloading them. I don't have snows (not needed in SE Michigan), but it wouldn't take much physical effort on my part.

Many posts on the reality that an AT tire is in fact a lousy snow tire. Offroad capability does not equal snow capability. There is also a difference between a tire that is good in deep snow and a tire that is good on packed snow or ice. Many threads discuss this.

If you're only going to go with one set, Michelin Defenders are rated very good.

Canadian Tire had the Goodyear Duratracs on sale when I looked just before Christmas.

$100 off per tire.
