Help - Canadian Parts
Hello, I am new to the forum. I am having difficulty looking for parts for my 1998 f-150 in CANADA.
I am looking to add a few aftermarket parts or upgrade parts to my 1998 4X4 Ext cab f-150.
Does anyone know of a good canadian site or does anyone have some parts for sale?
I am trying to look for parts such as:
-Clear or maybe smoked headlights (lightning style?)
-Grill insert (billet?)
-Rims
-Box cover
-Interior styling (billet/polished accessories?)
-ETC
Thank you for any help you can give.
-Rich

Canadian here too... If you live near the border at all I suggest ordering your parts state side and having them shipped somewhere on the American side and going to pick them up yourself. I buy 95% of my stuff from the states and go pick it up. Parts are over priced in Canada

hey rich,
i'm tyler. it's nice to meet you.
i'm from drayton valley myself for the past year, kamloops bc for 10 years.
anyways, what stores do you got out in lethbridge?
are you brand loyal?
and do you have any certain preferences thus far?
also, while bc is 14% tax, you know it's a nice low 5% here in alberta.
some shops, that i've seen in the past, will order stuff for you that they don't supply, but would require you to pay in full up front.
anyways, if you were in bc, i'd tell you to go look up lordco. they are the "summit racing" of bc. but since you're in alberta too... i don't know exactly what to say.
myself, i ordered a leer canopy from raven truck supplies and i got a call saying that it's arrived and install date is this friday.
when i was shopping for my canopy, i went to truck outfitters, also in edmonton, and no one would come say hi to me, even tho i was checking out the canopies a lot, and had my gf with me... so they lost my buesness.
usually i'm pretty good at finding accessories that people are looking for. while i'm not a part man, i'm pretty quirky with finding stuff.
anyways, i'm gonna go check out your shopping list again, and see if i can find you some items that you're looking for.

i think as for lights... you may want to try something different, for instance, if you search for a member called "KBS" and check out his pics, you'll see that he opened up his lights, and did some of his own customization. i know it's on a 2011 truck, but the concept is the same... that way, you can save some coin, and drop some HID's in there instead.
as for the rims, rims to me are all up to the owner of the truck... a pretty popular one i see are Dick Cepecks (or something like that) but if you ask me, 20'' seem to be good, because if you lift your truck, some lifts require you to have a 20''. skyjacker is the one that i can think of.
box cover, now... what do you mean when you say, box cover? do you mean, a canopy, a fiberglass cap, or a roll up teauneau? (spelling is wrong i know)
if you look on my profile, you'll see that a friend of mine "sgtpatiolantern" got a really nice roll up for 800 i think. he lives in red deer, another albertian.
when i first met him, he was looking for a quad ramp for his truck, and a bed extender... luckily, i came across a ramp that is a extender.
anyways, i'm not endorsing raven truck acc, but when you're looking for parts for your truck etc, make sure to ask about extra incentives. for instance, with raven, if you spend 2500 or more, they'll give you a coupon for 150 bucks off that purchase order.
as for interior... it depends on what you want, and what you're looking for...
for instance, there is another guy on here, who did a really sweet setup on his seats. he ordered from canadaseatskins.com , and he went with leather and added heaters in the seats, for 850 bucks.
other guys, are taking different plastic parts off of their truck, and paint to match the truck. (aka PTM)
and while i haven't done any "plasticdipping" people have been doing it a lot on here. myself, i would look on youtube and search up "hydro dipping"
anyways man, i'm not a vendor, nor can i guarentee you anything other than i'm just summerizing what i've come across on this forum.
and welcome to the forum man....

Hey tyler, thanks for the help and looking for stuff for me. My biggest thing i want to get is new headlights right now. there doesnt seem to be a whole lot of stuff in lethbridge it seems for trucks, i should go talk to "off road canada" and see what they have even though ive heard they are costly. There does seem to be a good box cover dealer in lethbridge, forget the name of it but my dad recently bought one.
I haven't done much to my truck, ive been working on my mustang since 2007. If you ever need mechanical parts i would recommend CEP as i like dealing with them here in lethbridge, if you ever need mustang parts try the Mustang Shop in Calgary (ordered hood, bumper and everything possible from them, unfortunately no truck parts).
Im actually moving to bc myself - Kelowna for University and taking my truck so thats why i want to do some work to it.

Anyways, back onto the lights for a second... Before you start to get serious about it, thee are a few questions you need to ask yourself.. things like do you think Youll get hid's in the future, or prefer piaa xtreme whites for now? Maybe Youll want a projector lens etc.... In any case, do this....
Autoanything.com go on there and search for anything and everything that you want, need, or are researching about.
Then, find Clark with Autoanything. Hes a vendor on here and will cut you 15%off(if i remember correctly) your order, just cause youre a member on here.
Next, back to my profile, find "billinvic"... He has it together when it comes to taking your current lights, and giving them a whole new scale of bling.
And if you still want to step it up another notch into the extreme... Google oracle lighting.
Not bad for a mopar man eh?
I also sent you a grow d request on here. Should show up in your notifications.

i dont think i have any future plans for HIDs or halo headlights. im just looking for simple clear lightning style headlights to replace the foggy gross headlights i have right now. ive tried polishing them and i could try to clear coat them but i just want crystal clear headlights instead.

Hmm... Maybe you could get a Saleen style lens? Not sure if they exist. But lots of guys are opening up their lenses and painting them black.
I know university life is tough. I worked at TRU and was a student there too for 4 years.
