good, no. but I've seen it before... Calgary - Edmonton, 125 kph, headwind the whole damn way, slowing down / accelerating constantly because of traffic, yep, that will do.

Wind is a killer for our trucks. Same trip (flat), same temperature, 13.x L / 100km one way (mostly tail wind), 15.x on the way back (mostly head wind)...

Didn't notice any wind on any of my trips. Either way, the trips were there n back which would minimize the average of head / tail wind.

Took her to the dealer. They checked a bunch of stuff to make sure the right sender and module was in the truck . Everything looked fine so they reset the ecu and said keep an eye on it.

Topped her off, was cheaper there, this time it took 47.5 liters and I got 292k. All highway. Gauge started to peel back from full at around 30k after the top off.
I've done all I can think of. There is no support from your manufacturer or dealer when it comes to a fuel consumption issue. I know for a fact there are people with identical drivetrains getting much better mileage . Christ I even owned one for a week before I gave it back and saw for myself.

It all falls within fords parameters. The end. My advice? Get the ecoboost if you have a choice. We have one and it makes the 5.0 look like a gas hog.

I was also told there is no break in needed, this is the economy you will likely expect from this vehicle.

I picked up my xlt for $36.5k after taxes. I asked the people at ford what I might get for trade in on a 2015 xlt with the 2.7 Eco in a 300a package (mine is also a 300a load). It comes to appx 43k. The 2.7 is a $1600 option .

Mine was around the same price but after employee pricing and discounts, I got the truck for a lot less than the sticker price.

If the mileage does not improve by the 2015's release, I will seriously consider trading it in, depending on what incentives ford has at the time.

two comments : 1st IMHO I'd wait a year on the 2.7 ecoboost or stay with the 3.5. 2nd your not likely going to get any incentive on the 2015; it's the 1st year of the highly anticipated next generation F150. Good luck.

2014 5.0 4X4 Supercrew. Here is my current kilometers per tank. To fill it up the tank took 114L. My calculated L/100KM is 14.5. This was a mixture of 70/30 hwy/city and it has been cold outside.

i got an overall average of 13.5 L / 100km from Calgary to Vancouver and back this past week-end...
doing either 120 on a clear road, or 60 in 4x4 in the ****ty sections (probably about 1,200 kms out of the 2,100 total!), and about 150kms right in downtown Van.

not too bad considering the conditions!
