lol I'm not sure how to respond to that, am I supposed to be happy that you bought a truck that needed over $5000 worth of work after driving it 30k ?

Back in 2001, I had a '98 XL 4x4 I bought off lease, had 68k on it when I bought it, 160k when I traded it in five years later, and I did nothing but routine maintenance, and every Ford after has been just as trouble free.

Who knows, maybe I've been lucky. I'm glad you got your moneys worth out of the extended warranty, sounds like you did OK, but I'll venture thats the exception, not the rule.

I'll bet the majority of extended warranties go the life of their term with no claims, but , like most things, individual mileage will vary.

You've got a valid point with being happy about needing 5k work. Sounds funny when its put that way. Then again, seems major issues like such are more frequent nowadays then in the past.
