Alberta F-150s!!!!!
#512
Hey just wanted to get in on this Alberta F-150 thing anyway just bought a 2013 FX4 5.0L Fully loaded. Pretty much has every option I can think of. Just installed a magnaflow cat-back exhaust and i'm just about ready to pull the trigger on a Afe intake and SCT custom tune. Just wanna make sure it won't kill my warrenty if for any reason it has to go in for work. I should have some pics up either tonight or tomorrow.
the tune will screw with your warranty and a CAI (according to the parts manager in drayton valley) will also void warranty issues.
how? because it affects the product.
i know you can flash back to a stock tune and pull the programmer... but if ford doesn't see those 6 letters, you're ****ed. which you lose when you put a tune in.
one member here actually got rid of his sct tune and his CAI cause of that very reason.
i am almost 100 000km on my truck and ill be looking at a e-force. 2010 screw 4x4.

~2% off. I would call that un-noticeable, possibly a good thing.
My speedo is a bit low vs gps. An extra 2% in ground speed would be closer to bang-on.

FoMoCo is the 6 letters that Ford needs to see what when I bring it in for warrenty work? First ford product so not overly sure what you mean by this.
So what ur saying is that with a 5Star tune those numbers vanish and ford can tell right away even if the truck's stock tune is put back on before the dealership work? I had ordered a Roush intake from the same dealership I bought my truck from and nothing was said whats so ever about it voiding warrenty.
Just trying to get all my info correct bec the warrenty is important for sure, but I just can't leave this awesome truck stock for too long. Too much power to be had with such little money really.

Question for ya - what do you guys recommend for a spray in bedliner and where do you recommend getting it done? Most of my buddies have recommended line-x. I renovate and build houses so I need something that is going to stand up to a little bit of abuse.
And average cost to expect? 6.5' bed. I'll also remove the plastic pan on the tailgate to ensure they spray that too.
Thanks for any help.

I paid 561 dollars including tax on a 6 and a half foot box I also got my checkered aluminum toolbox done with the same spray on for 204 dollars
I went to Linex Southside
Talk to Sean for Dave great people very accommodating
What is the plastic pan u r talking about?
Have a good one

The plastic I was referring to was the 'factory plastic bedliner' that is mounted to the tailgate for those with the Tailgate Step. I chatted with Loni at Line-x and he advised to be sure there was enough clearance afterwards to remount the plastic liner. Yup... $535 + gst at Line-x Southside. Another buddy is telling me to go with Armorthane. Dunno...
I do a lot of custom painting and motorcycle work. Last year I decided to paint my motorcycle for the 3rd time. I went with Dupont Bedliner in the can. She looks pretty sweet - and bring on the gravel roads... it all just bounces off now.
I would attempt to use one of the kits but i'd rather just pony up the money and have it professionally done. A $7000 dual purpose bike is one thing. A $50K truck is another. I will mainly use it for construction purposes - so a liner that is more resistant to punctures is what i'm going for.

i would get it written down on paper that the dealership won't void warrenty.
i don't think they void anything their shop installs.
remember, roush is ford. just make sure to have ford program it to your truck etc...
good luck with it man.
