The Hell Bent Steel web site states the spacer measures less than the amount of lift you will get after install and alignment.

I recently got a kit from Heavy Metal Lifts on ebay and they sent the wrong one. According to them their 2.5 inch measures 1.7 inches (1 11/16) tall ,that's the one I wanted. The one they sent was 1.9 inches tall (1 15/16). They sent the right one right away-had it in 2 days.
I had another brand before and that was 1 11/16 and gave a 2.5 lift to the front end. So if the one you got is 1.5 inches that may be a 2 inch kit.
You should call them.

The spacer changes the geometry of the suspension. That is what will give you your lift height. The spacer will measure smaller than 2.5". I believe it's right around 1.625 for 2.5 inches of level.

Agree with techrep. My alignment definitely needed to be done after. Like the others said, it's 1.5" or so but where it sits on the control arm and the geometry is what makes it 2.5" overall at the wheel. It's where the suspension sits on the lower control arm that affects the geometry further out of the control arm. Good ol high school geometry class hehehe
