I did not know they (Superchips) made a tuner that did ALL engines....they are usually specific to one engine. This one will do 4.2, 4.6, and 5.4.
Also, make sure it's "unlocked", meaning you'll be able to plug it into your OBD II port and tune away. Most tuners store your old factory tune before allowing you to download theirs; if the previous owner of this tuner did not restore his factory tune into his truck from this tuner, it may not allow you to connect to your truck and download.
Ask the deller; get it in writing. Pay with PayPal to be safe; this way if it doesn't work, you could at least dispute and perhaps get your money returned.

Definitely do it if he calls you back. You should be able to update and get the mileage tunes online, too.
Plug it in when you get there and it will tell you if it's VIN locked or not. If it is, you should be able to get superchips to unlock it for $100.
