Exclamation Wiring diagram for 2006 F150; harness in drivers side dash

Hey folks,

Looking for some 'priority' help with my buddy's 2006 F150.

While working on the vehicle we shorted a wire that a previous installer tapped into a wire in a factory wiring harness. The harness in question is behind the driver's side dash, relatively high up - you have to get your head up under the driver side dash to see it (without removing any trim panels, that is). It's a large harness and the most obviously visible one. The wire in question is red/yellow stripe.

Symptoms: Wire previously carried +12V, now nothing. We had assumed it was a accessory or constant +12V, but no luck there - all electrical stuff you would expect to works (e.g. headlights, dome light, dash lights, radio, windows, doors, etc.). However, after starting the truck it giving a check engine light and my buddy says that it sounds like the truck 'wants to shut off'.

I'm not a F150 owner, so unfortunately I can't give a much better description on the harness location or it's proper name. Anybody that could provide: 1. what the wire does, 2. what that wiring harness does or is named (to facilitate better searching), or 3. electrical service diagrams for this area would be a big help!

Thanks in advance.

Chris

F15 fuse is a 5amp fuse, so tieing into it is not a great idea. I think its just for lighting switches. unless your just tieing in another interior lights. then maybe just bump the fuse up to a 7 amp.
