Had the same experience - RainX were terrible. My OEM Ford blades lasted 2 years and were great. After the snow season this year, will trash the RainX and go back to Motorcraft.

Try the Bosch blades. They always work well. Oem's do work well, but these work great during the winter.

Not sure what's coming on the new trucks, but ours were the typical metal 6 point design.

I guess I don't need to say anymore on my end except someone asked 'which' rain X blades were working well and I threw the package away I don't know but they were the cheapest Target had, and relating to the comment about not making direct contact across the windshield I know exactly what you mean I have in the past been dealing with that for years.
Next time I go to Target I will take a pic of the rain X that I just bought with my cell phone and post it up. Not that it will help, maybe maybe not I dunno.
It has since been raining here every day and these things are like a slice of heaven. I guess with stuff like this "your results may vary". I am so happy I didn't get crap this time.
