Default Window fell. Literally dropped

I was rolling my window up today and I noticed a weird sound. It gets to the top and all of a sudden it drops. Just literally falls open. So I try to move it (probably a mistake) and I hear just a scratching sound. Awesome.

I removed the door panel and peeled back the plastic. I notice right in the middle of the door, when the window is supposed to roll up or down, there is a "wire" that moves. Looks like brake cable on a kids bike. Behind that, there appears to be a massive knot. What the hell do I do about this?

Any help is appreciated.

It's an 05 XLT Super Crew, and this happened to the passenger side. I currently have the rear most track duct taped in the up position out of desperation since it is supposed to rain tonight.

I have the same truck, definitely a factory defect or something, I had to have 2 of these done by a window guy not too bad, about $100 (per window) call around cause the prices varied greatly ranging from $100-300

Where did you find one for 54.99? All I'm finding right now are for front doors and mine fell on the back passenger of my screw. I used a hose clamp on one of the posts to hold my window in the up position. Works great and had it laying around the garage already.

Window Regulator.
Installation is found in YouTube.

I was taking my sweet time, but it took me about 30 minutes for complete installation.

It happened to me last year as I was driving.
It freaked the heck out of me and put my hand on it as I thought it was going to slam down and break.

Well this is the one I got, though I can't find one for the rear.

I've replaced the ones in both sides on my truck because they broke. Very easy to do. It literally takes longer to take the door apart than to replace this piece.
