Will shocks freeze up?

First thing in the cold mornings, upon take off I occasionally get a quick click/clunk sound. It's the sound of the brake pads and rotors freeing up from sitting..
If the sound continues for miles into your morning drive, I'd suspect the bushings on the shocks.. I had ranchos and 4 shocks up front on my bronco (2 per side), and the cheap Monroe bushings found on rancho shocks at that time were full of creaks and squeaks.. I ended up replacing the noisier clunky rear shock bushings in the ranchos on that bronco, and the squeaks and creeks went away (with urethane).. The same can be said for old and worn leaf spring bushings....
