My buddy that I bought the truck from had the ES warranty up to 75K, but I dont know if a dealership will honor it if I had to have the phasers replaced.

If the ESP was in your buddies name it wouldn't carry over to you anyways. Only if the truck was still in your friends name and the warranty was still in effect would it be eligible.

Hit or miss on 04-05s. 06s+ shouldn't have frequent issues as they changed the phaser to an improved version.

As far as duplicating the problem, it does the usual rattle between 800 and 1200 rpms everytime and after you let off of the throttle. It sounds quiet at start up though. I am not sure if it's a waste of time to take it to ford and for them not to do anything...
