I have been wanting to put a grille guard on my truck for a while now, and I have one picked out. (Aries one piece grille guard) My question is if it is possible to install this on a 2wd truck which doesn't have tow hooks. Am I going to have to drill holes? Or are the mounts still there? Truck in question is a 2004 F150 XLT Supercab 2wd. I will post a pic of my truck, a pic of a truck with the guard I want, and a link to the guard I want to install(you have to choose new body style on the side to get the right one to come up). I think they come with a bracket or something for 2wd. I put a bull bar on my truck and it had install instructions for 2wd and 4wd.

You are right, I did a little research and in the instructions it says to cut 2 holes in the front bumper valence (the plastic undercoating on the bumper) to expose the brackets. I went out and looked under my front bumper just now. Sure enough, there are brackets for tow hooks etc.
