If I'm wrong someone feel free to correct me. But the 04-08 5.4's were all fundamentally the same. The only changes were to things like the VCT solenoids, the valve covers, and a few things like that that wouldn't affect fitment. You should be good to go. Question. What is your engine doing? You might be cheaper to fix your engine instead of trying to pull it out and get the "new to you" engine in there.

Yup it sure will drop right in..

For 3k to score a motor, Trans, and another 4x4 setup if equipped is a damn good deal.... I'd buy the truck, harvest the parts and keep them as cheap insurance for a price like 3k... Then cash in the rest of the truck for scrap when your done and make some money back...

5.4 knock, through some 10w-30 non syn oil into it and it quieted it down a bit, but the dealer said that it's not worth throwing anymore money into it

Just found out the truck is a 2007 f-250 with the 5.4 in it, should it still fit?

Same motor I believe so it should still fit. As far as the knock/tick a phaser and timing job should fix that. It's like $500 in parts or 1-2K at a shop. That's assuming the cams are fine but the scoring may be a whole other issue.

It should be a pretty direct swap. You might need to swap around some pulleys, maybe the timing cover, oil pan, intake adaptors, and brackets. Since all those parts will be sitting on your f150 anyways, it should be a bit of a breeze...
The only thing that kinda sucks is that certain parts like the driveshaft and axles will not be a direct fit..

I'd still pull every part from the F250 I could salvage. Then eBay or Craigslist them away before I hauled the rest of the carcass out for some recycling money....
