If you decide to go forward with the swap I agree with others that the trade shouldn't cost you anything. And definitely have an independent mechanic of your choosing who works for you do a thorough check of the Lariat.

I would not give up a Screw for a Scab either. If you do you will always want the Screw. Stay with what you have and tell them you'll give them a straw so they can suck it up. If they want it so bad tell them you want another Screw and nothing else. Just my .02 cents.

Go and get your work done somewhere else... and tell them to eat dirt.

iknow ford used to ask for vehicle specific vehicles for warranty quality controls but ive never heard of a dealership personally asking i got a letter from ford years back and they would have given me way more then the car was worth but they were looking for specific vehicles with a certain mileage trim package ect. mabey ford put out an email to delerships in your area but if they really want your truck theyll pay for it

it almost sounds like they A have someone looking for your exact truck, and B want to sell u a truck they are trying to get rid of. keep yours unless u really want to get a diff truck if you do put them through the ringers see if u can get something better for less lol let me know how it works out

Most Lariats have leather interior, Tow package, Limited slip diff, And various other things that are stock not options. If they are in a bad spot you may come out ahead. Ask for everything. Act like you really like your truck and don't want to part with it. This may be a good opertunity for you to upgrade. Who knows at this point. Is

so find out whats going on?
None of the above applies?? It's a sales ploy to sell a truck to you?

When I bought my 2008 the dealer gave me a great deal on my trade in. and they also gave me 13,000 off the new truck.

I drove in with a 6 year old 2wd xlt 80,000 miles, dented frt fender, dented cab, smashed rear bumper. No Money in hand.
I drove out with payments on 21,300

window sticker was 42,855

My Advice. Do what is right for you.

I worked in the business for 30 years. I know how things can work.
I am a salesmen's nightmare "LOL"

I worked these guys between two dealerships for weeks. And when I was at one dealer getting a deal offered. I stepped out in the parking lot and called the other dealer just in case. He offered $2000 more off to get me to drive over. I left the first dealer. Bought for the price I said earlier at the second dealer.
