Why don't you ask them what the deal is? Is yours not a Lariat?

Either (a) they're simply telling you they want it back to try to get you to buy a different truck or (b) they sold you a truck they shouldn't have. Either way if they seem eager to get it back then make them really pay for it. Do not accept any upside down for going to the 06. Personally for me I would never go from a screw to a scab, but that's up to you to decide. I don't believe there's a huge difference between the Lariat and XLT though. I have an XLT screw and absolutely love it and there's really not a whole lot out there I'd trade it for.

Some of the dealers around here play the trick where they want your make and model but they really just want your money for a different vehicle.

Basically a scam of sorts.

OR, there's hidden treasure inside the truck.

In all seriousness, I hope you don't get scammed.

That sounds odd to me. I would ask them why. And I also agree, if they give you a good reason, take nothing less than an even trade.

make sure the lariat has less miles and runs good. and i wouldnt pay any extra for it. make it a straight trade. as for going from a screw to a scab, thats up to you. do you need the full 4 doors?

Did they have a deal go south? They need to give back the truck? Is there something wrong ... Salvage title? Are they trying to save face with out telling the whole story?
Most Lariats have leather interior, Tow package, Limited slip diff, And various other things that are stock not options. If they are in a bad spot you may come out ahead. Ask for everything. Act like you really like your truck and don't want to part with it. This may be a good opertunity for you to upgrade. Who knows at this point. Is

so find out whats going on?

try and get them to trow in a warranty to cover anything that could go wrong with the truck they are trying to get you in.

I personally would not from a super crew to a crew cab. I like the extra room.
