I don't do this, but if you need some get up and go off the line, powerbrake

I had stock tires on when I bought my truck and could get 800 KM out of a tank. Now with 35s on the same rim, I get around 600 KM. That is with factoring the diameter change (about 10% larger tire)

I run 285-55-22 terra grapplers, (10 ply, measure 34.5x12) on Harley factory wheels, that combo is well over 100 lbs on each corner. I cannot expect great mileage, but I certainly don't run my truck hard either.

Op, get some 35s and report the mileage back. According to previous numbers you should still see 20+ mpg, should be awesome. Then go to the dealer and laugh at everyone buying new 5.0 and Eco trucks for their fuel economy lol
I havent done much research on knowing what the largest recomended tire is for the factory 17" 5 spoke aluminum rims is. But I have been looking at 315/70 R17's (which I think works out to about a 35/12.5).

I should have the clearance, only thing I am not sure about and have not read into enough yet was if the tire would be to wide for the factory wheel and/or if I would have any rubbing issues when turning with the factory offset wheels. I definitely can not afford tires AND wheels right now lol. Just a set of tires would be looking at easily $1,000.00

Of course the big oil companies paid them off so it would never go into full production. Maybe you got one of the prototypes before they got shut down.
Never heard of that lol.

Fairly certain my intake is the typical plastic intake found on other 5.4's though.

It depends what tire you go with. My terra grapplers are 12.8 wide and they just fit. I can't even put my finger in between the sidewall and the UCA. That's were a mud tire would not work without spacers due to the aggressive sidewall on most of them.
The only rubbing i get is on the sway bar when the wheel is fully locked, like turning into a parking spot in a small parking lot. It's a smooth surface, so it's not hurting a thing.

Nope, the truck will still be my daily driver so I don't want to deal with the vibration or annoying humming that comes with a really aggressive tread lol.

So I would likely go with a all terrain tire .... the most aggressive tread I would likely go with would be a bfg a/t or similar.

Better than the highway tread I have now. But not to aggressive either.

I like that you picked BFG A/T. That will be my next choice. I have had great success with my Nitto Terra Grapplers but I've seen my pops get crazy mileage out of BFG's. Not sure about MPG as every truck/driver is different but they lasted for a long time for him as far as wear goes. And I had a General Grabber version of them on my ranger and they were great in dirt roads and snow so why not.
