Default Why was 04-08 body style short lived?

Compared to most body styles the 04-08 didnt run for very many years. I always thought the 09+ were the same truck with minor grille changes until I got my 07 and realized they are different.

Seems to me 4yrs is about average for a body style life cycle. Hell I was in the subaru game for years and they change body style every 2 years, it was nuts. I also blame it on technology, in order to stay relevant and keep up with other manufacturers you have to constantly change every couple years.

I noticed that about subaru. It seems a lot of trucks average 5 or more years per body style. I wonder if someday they will run out of new ideas. There's only so many ways to change the appearance. When I look at the new silverado it has a bit of resemblance to the 88-98 trucks.

On the flip side I had a 07 titan and that went relatively unchanged from 04-14. I have noticed that with trucks they do have longer runs but if you notice Chevy changed the Silverado mid year in 07 so I can only imagine that pushed ford to make updates.
