Default White Smoke Coming from Oil fill Tube.

Hello. I own a 2005 f150 5.4l 3v and I recently had a timing chain issue. When the engine gets at normal temperature, smoke begins to come out of the tube. Sometimes, it will come through my a/c vents. Is this normal? What causes this to happen? Thanks for taking time to read my post. You can only see the smoke with a flashlight.

If the cap is on then It sounds like it's leaking.. It could be the neck or the cap leaking which is an easy fix.. It's normal to see some smoke come out on a hot motor with the cap REMOVED if that's what you asking..

With the cap removed:
If smoke is pumping out, and you can feel a slight pressure behind it than that is not a good sign..

The smoke slowly oozes out and sometimes enter through the cab a/c vents. I could not find a leak in the cap or neck. Could it be the valve cover seal? I had my valve cover taken off 3 months ago to fix a broken VCT soleniod.

Yes, it could definitely be a valve cover seal, or a VCT solenoid seal.. It could also be a leak in the breather tube heading to the air box..

I found the oil leak. It was located on the rear passenger valve cover.
