Thanks for taking time to read my post. You can only see the smoke with a flashlight.
If the cap is on then It sounds like it's leaking.. It could be the neck or the cap leaking which is an easy fix.. It's normal to see some smoke come out on a hot motor with the cap REMOVED if that's what you asking..
With the cap removed:
If smoke is pumping out, and you can feel a slight pressure behind it than that is not a good sign..
