If what you're talking about is what I think you're talking about, mine does this all the time. It's very apparent on trucks with "higher flowing", a.k.a. louder, intake setups. It's just air going between the blade and walls of the throttle body. I notice mine the most right before it's about to shift, under light to moderate throttle conditions. I think it sounds neato.

Mine does this as well.

Sometimes, when the engine isn't warmed up yet and I accelerate, I'll hear the sound that I can only describe as 'two rotating plates hitting each other'.

My old Chevrolet Express made the same noise. I always wondered what it was.

Sorry for the hijack, to lazy to make another thread.

I don't think this is an air sucking issue, as this has come up many times before on the forum. However, I don't think anyone has been able to pin-point the situation yet. Just about every truck seems to do this. I agree, it is very annoying.

Mine does it too ! Only when it's cold. It does exactly as describe in the first post.
If you do a search in this forum you'll find that it is coming from your alternator. You have to change it if you want to get rid of the sound !

Ahoy! My 04 5.4 FX4 made this high pitch annoying whistle last fall/ winter. it drive me nuts. i thought it was related to areodynamics of the truck somehow but i was quite wrong i searched and searched and after getting fed up a changed my alternator in hopes to rid my truck of this noise.. it worked! i would recommend changing the highly over priced alternator.

mine does this for a minute or 2, I guess it's the same noise. but it sounds kinda like flowing of liquid, like rushing noise.

I'm no mechanic but could it possibly be an old belt?
