Whirring noise after switch back to 2WD
Today for the fist time my 2006 F150 Super Cab 4x4 (automatic with the 5.4 L engine) made some kind of whirring noise after I switched the truck back to 2WD after having done some driving in 4WD. I'm pretty sure it was the transfer case making the noise.
I switched back to 4WD and then back to 2WD again and that took care of it but it happened again later and I had to do the same thing.
What's going on?

Might have a loose/cracked vacuum line in the 4x4 system, or just something wearing out (solenoid, IWE). Get a cup of coffee and start reading...

Thanks, 60DRB I read enough to know that I need to take my truck to my local trusted mechanic. I'm not good at mechanical stuff.
It sounds like I have a vacuum problem that is adversely affecting the operation of the actuators. I'm sure my mechanic can trace that down and fix it in no time and for not too much money.
