whinning noise!

Default whinning noise!

Ok lately I've been hearing a whining noise coming from the truck towards the back, I've been told by several ppl its my differential! Any of you experience this problem before? Any info can help guys thanks.

Your "internet" description of the noise does direct someone to think its the differential or the driveshaft U-joints.

Best to take it to a shop soon before you're stranded.

It could also be the tires, I have Yokohama Geolander A/T/S tires on the rear wheels in my truck, and they are loud as can be, I'm fairly certain they're the tires because the pitch changes at different speeds, and depending on how new the road is, the loudness changes.

Differential whine is very distinct. I would definitely get it checked and get an answer, have it repaired before the differential comes apart on you.
