Default Whining sound in 2wd

The other day my 06 mark LT started making a whining noise from the passenger front side, so I engaged 4x4 and it went away. So basically I have a constant whine (similar to steering pump whine) in 2wd. Both lines going to the actuators have vacuum and the truck will engage and disengage 4x4, it just makes a very annoying whine when 4x4 is not engaged. I think I am going to start with the passenger side acctuator and if that doesn't fix it maybe I'll try the hub assembly. If anyone has any input please feel free to give me some insight. Any help will be appreciated

Maybe it's your hub assembly
