Whining noise in the cold

The whine mine had was the tension bearing. Replaced the idlers too and it's gone

I have a 2006 5.4 it does it in the cold my dad 2010 does it and his old 2005 did it. It just a random noise it does in the cold.

It's an easy job. The idlers are only one bolt. The tensioner is three.

Yeah, after you take off the shroud and the fan. With those out, there's literally enough room to stand in there comfortably as I've done on many an occasion.

Very easy. Get a new serpentine belt too if you haven t done yours. You ll have it off anyways
