I just got a AFE silver bullet 1" throttle body spacer but came into a problem when i was putting on my cai or stock intake...the intake was hitting the cross member or body just above the throttle body...is there anything i can do to make it work???

please help

you could take the throttle body spacer off.

the guy I have been dealing with for performance stuff just showed me a bunch of dyno data and there was no significant difference after putting on a throttle body spacer other than the sound. no increased fuel mileage, no increase in horsepower and about 1 ft/lb of torque

It should of came with 1" spacers for your CAI mount...mine did fits perfect. And there is added performance with the TBS...it's up in the RPM range..maybe not much but its there.

i agree that you get some added power. its not much but i just put one on yesterday and i could feel the difference off the line. it defiantly picked up speed faster between 800 and 2400 rpm's.

hey, cant beat data, you may think you feel the power but looking at the dyno results its just not there.

I can't justify putting something on my truck that costs in the area of $70-$120 and shows no results on a dyno. in fact the person who's truck was on the dyno said it didn't even help his fuel economy. (but thats not evidence just one person's view)

but if someone can show me some hard fact and data other than the marketing graph on the back of the package that say they increase anything please share it.

So...your saying the marketing graph on the CAI and the programmer is BS too...they come with the package graph also...I think in combonation with these other devices it will add performance...maybe not $90 dollars worth to you but I think I got my money's worth.

the CAI intake is probably the single most effective this you can put on your truck or any vehicle for that matter, and the programmers are mostly worth their weight in gold. BUT we are NOT talking about the CAI OR PROGRAMERS, we ARE talking about the TBS.

I can look at what the package says and then look at the actual dyno results. they are not anywhere near each other.

when I refer to the truck on the dyno its a 2007 F150 FX4 with a 5.4.

the "marketing graph" on the package of an Airaid throttle body spacer for a 5.4 motor states you will get an increase of 5-8 horsepower and 7-12 ft lbs of low end torque at the high power band. it shows no increase at the low power band. Just by installing a TBS.

the dyno results show 0 increase in horsepower, and just over 1 ft lbs of low end torque. at the high power band. and no increases at the low power band.

so explain to me how a package can say what it says thing and the dyno results of a before TBS install and post TBS install can so almost 0 increase? sounds like a load of BS to me.

is that worth $70-$100 to you?

yes its worth it to me. plus i didnt pay 120 buck hell not even 70 bucks. i won my airaid poweraid TBS off ebay for 40 bucks. i put it on there and didnt tell my dad, he borrowed it and when he got back he asked what did i do to it to get more power off the line... i believe thats what they call a double blind study . also im a big diesel man but cant afford one while im in school so it was worth 40 bucks to get the whistlin sound that sounds kinda like a turbo. man i miss the sound of the turbo on my ol 7.3 powerstroke.
