Default Where is the performance chip at on a 2004 f150

Ok I bought my 04 f150 and its quick. I raced about 10 people last night and one all. From trucks to cars. It will burn the tires off of it. and im wondering if there might of been a chip installed before I got it. Where would it be located

Yea street racing doesn't jive well here.
But if there was a chip installed then you wouldn't be able to know. Unless there's a gauge pod thing like this.

Other than that You might could determine that by looking at the shift points. If it shifts above 5k RPM then it's probably chipped.

If I'm not mistaken and if the previous owner did tune the truck and if the tune still exists on the truck then he now has a locked tuning device. Tuners (most tuners) are designed to only be able to tune one vehicle. If they trader/sold the truck, it would have been wise for them to have put the truck 'back to stock' via the tuner so it could be unlocked and used again to tune another vehicle.

Any who, you could have an aftermarket tune but without going to a professional tuner, you wont know what type of tune you have nor what it was geared for (towing, MPGs, performance).

Best of luck.

107 huh? Must have been on the street and you must have been racing some geo's and prius's if you were winning. These trucks are slow as hell stock and even with a tune they still aren't race winners. Lastly they don't have chips. You can tune the pcm with a handheld device that contains basic tunning tweak or custom tunes designed specifically for your truck.

"Burning the tires off"??? Lmao thanks for the laugh.
