where did you buy your 5.4 engine?

Why do so many people spend so much extra money on replacing coils when most likely they can fix it for $5 or less per boot/spring? C'mon people! If you just got money to throw away I'll take it!!! LOL

Ford reman from dealer installed 7k on the nose. originally 7300$ but I walked in with cash slapped in on his desk and said I think 7k is fair enough especially up front. He agreed.
Its not a lot off but 300$ allowed me to put that 300$ somewhere else..
*edit heres why*
I wanted the 3 yr warranty

I was 7400+ but they fixed the faulty console shifter as well. With the rewards program they gave me $410 credit towards any future repair work. Little did I know 10 days later I would use it for a new tranny. 😕

Agreed. Also, Jasper is hit or miss right now. They are having a lot of negativity in the 5.4 area. I'd go Ford. But, honestly, why not try and diagnose what's going on? Is there a CEL, what is the maintenance history, have the plugs and coils been changed, any other issues leading up to this one? Try fixing what you have instead of throwing the barn out.

Powertrain products. Why buy a used one?!?!?! But a new rebuild with a warranty. I bought one for my f250 work truck and hate that i put it in my work truck and not my f150.... Which is what i'll be doning when my 150 needs it

I just replaced mine at Ford dealership. Their 3yr/unlimited mile warranty was what sold me as well.

Sorry to hear that,
I had my tranny and rear end serviced about 10 days later. As well as I had the motor serviced. figured cheap insurance to drop the filter and drain the oil at near 1k on the new motor.
One thing I did forget was to have the transfer case serviced../facepalm.
I'll prolly wait until winters over now..

My next service is transfer case, diffs and radiator flush.
