Hey, so I'm going to remove the intake manifold and am wondering if I really need to drain the coolant and remove the coolant bypass tube. It looks like the manifold sits on top of the bypass tube so why the heck would I need to go to all the trouble of removing the bypass tube? Chiltons and Alldata.DIY say to drain and remove the bypass, ahhhh, annoying! I hope they are wrong! Thanks for any answers on this.

Do you need to pull the bypass tube to move the intake far enough forward? Pulling the hoses might help with access.
You could always leave the cooling system in tact until you get to a step that forces you to pull it.
