Default Wheelskin Leather Steering Wheel Cover Install!

I ordered my Wheelskin leather steering wheel cover a month or so back. I got it directly from them as I wanted some "custom" stitching. Basically I wanted the dark grey wheel cover with the white stitching. No options for this on their website. So I called them and they said no problem and didn't charge me anymore either.

Great customer service! And very easy to deal with.

Now on to the install. I watched their video on youtube and the install went easy. Took me about 40 min as I was taking my time. Install is pretty easy. I have one small wrinkle but not much its by one spoke.

The look and feel is awesome! Now on to the pics! Now remember I am no professional. Great product. I think it was about $50 bucks for the leather. It is very nice quality. Goes with my Katzkin interior perfectly.

How did you stitch around the spokes?

That looks good. I may have to look into one of those at some point.

Thanks fellas! I like leather. Especially on the steering wheel. Much better then that plastic / rubber.

The stitching around the spokes is called "dummy stitching" basically its just on the front holes around the spokes. That video explains how to do that.

Here is the installation video

That's cool thanks for the link. Does it fit tight on the wheel?

I got mine a few years back. I went with grey and white. Feels much better than stock.
like the way your seats look.

Thanks fella's. Yes the wheel cover is as tight as any factory leather one. You can budge it. There is zero movement.

Thanks! I love my seats. Here is my thread on them. I chose the color, the stitching, well all of it. They are not what Katzkin recommended for the color. I'm glad I went with this as at least I like it much better.

Looks good. I have the wheelskins in cobalt blue and black on my 12 F150, another one on my wifes van and just gave my mom one for her new Honda she bought last night.

Well worth the money in my opinion, weather tech mats and wheel skins steering wheel cover are the two required things in my book for a new to you vehicle.

Had mine on for about two years now and looks and feels brand new. Install does take about an hour but pretty easy to do.

That looks great. I've been buying vinyl steering wheel covers because my Lariat leather steering wheel is so slick and hard. And it has to be replaced every year or two. Next time, I'll go for a Wheelskin.

This what I've been buying, which actually fits and works pretty well. And matches my tan interior. Just not nearly as nice as the Wheelskin wrap

I'm on my second Wheelskins cover. The first time I did the baseball stitch. Took forever (prob 2-3 hours), but looked good. The dye started to go after a few months, so I called them and they sent me a brand new cover. Talk about customer service...

I just installed the second cover recently. This time I use the simple stitch in the instructions. Took me 45 minutes, and I think it looks just as good. No one is going to think the cover is original no matter what the stitch is.

One helpful hint is to pick up a good aluminum crochet needle. Use that to pull the thread tight, it saves your fingers and makes the job really easy.
