Default wheel question?

hi all, my father has an 07 f150 xlt with the chrome clad wheels and lately i've noticed little brown specs on the wheels from the brake dust, we don't let the wheels get extremely dirty but then again we don't clean them religously either. what can we do to get them specs off, truck looks new and only has 23k miles on it, hate for the wheels to look like crap later down the road. thanks for any help!

If the wheels are not pitted yet, then some MOTHERS wheel cleaner should work. If the clearcoat has been eaten through, then clean and have the wheels re clearcoated to protect the metal.

When it comes time for a brake job, replace the pads with ceramic. They do not produce nearly the amount of brake dust that the stock pads do, and for street use, provide plenty of braking ability.

thanks Bucko, i believe we have some MOTHERS in the garage. this past summer i used this stuff called wheel wax and that seemed to cut the dust down a tad. i'll remember the ceramic pads when it needs new brakes.

I'm sorry but how can you tell the wheels are pitted? i've heards some bad stories about how ford's brakes pads destroy wheels.
