Default What's your opinion/advice??

I posted a thread asking what to do about keeping my 96 f150 2wd auto with 140,000 miles truck or getting a 05 FX4 with only 30,000 miles on it. you all helped me out pretty well. But After doing some research on some new and used f150's, I can get a BRAND new 09 f150 STX for $25,000 which of course comes with the handy warrenty. As the used one does not and is selling for $23,000. I Don't think i have to explain the differance between the two because ya'll hopefully/should know. Should I go for the FX4 that has more features and don't get the warrenty? Or go with the STX and customize it?

2 grand difference for a full warranty and a brand new truck

you shouldnt even need to ask. do your local economy, and yourself a favour and get the damn 09.

I have an 05' STX, honestly I don't mind all the manual things, It's less problems later on. You don't have to worry about the switches and everything else going wrong. However it is nice to have all that stuff but when you look at it down the road. Id go with the 09.

personally, i would keep shopping around and keep that one in mind. dont rush yourself into buying a new truck just because you want one. an '05 FX4 for $23,000 is a lot of money. that '09 is somewhat cheap but you know theyre there and not going anywhere. theres definetly better deals out there. keep an eye out and you can always come back to that one

Amen! When I bought my 2005 STX last year, I also had the chance to buy an 06 Lariat with the 5.4 V8. Loaded for about $1200.00 more. I passed on the Lariat and bought the "simplten" STX with the 4.2 V6. Manual everything.

I never regreted my decision.

The other day I saw a very sharp 07 FX4 with about 35k on it, priced at 18900. So there are definately some much better deals out there. If you want all the toys in your truck don't settle for an STX continue shopping around for what you want at the price you want. If you don't care about the extras then get the 09. Ultimately it is all a matter of what you want and will be happy with after you bought it. Nothing worse than buying something and then wishing you had not!
