What's these extra wires for??
I have a 2007 F-150 super crew lariat 2wd w/ most options, but not heated seats. In my dash I have the radio, below that the climate control box, below that a black oval with a cigarette lighter. On the back of that piece, there are two wiring harness plugs seated in sockets, just to park them somewhere. What would those two harnesses be for?
If they are for heated seat controls, can I add the heat function to my existing leather seats?
What is the slim silver box behind the cliamte controls, under the radio?
While I am asking questions, what is the useless little think where the 4wd control would be in a 4wd?

I guess we can call that almost successful.
Question 2 - these two plugs were stuck in sockets on the back of the center section of dash, one on each side of the cigarette lighter. They currently serve no purpose. What option would they be for? The brown plug is for the lighter.

Search here, It has come up before for those plugs. I can't recall off hand what they are for, or I would have posted; but I know these mystery plugs have been talked about.
The round dash insert gizmo where the 4x4 switch goes for non 4x4's is a coin holder. Many remove it and use this spot to install a guage.

The plug on the left port is for Traction control enable/disable.
The plug on the right is for turning your reverse sensing on/off.
I removed my coin holder (selector switch on 4x4s) and replaced it with a 2 1/6" tranny temp gauge. I got power and lighting for the gauge from the unused traction control harness plug.

I believe the silver box is the Sirius/XM tuner.
