whats the deal with muffler shops....
I have called a few muffler shops and most of them will not do a true duel exhaust set up on my 2008 5.4L I think only 2 out of like 10 shops I called will do a true duel. It seems to me like the places that only offer a SI/DO are afraid to do duels. Is there some sort of regulations now that some shops are abiding by??? just wondering if anyone else had the same kinda run around in your neck of the woods...

I was wondering about that, but 1 shop that would not do duels I asked if it was an emissions thing and he didnt answer, just said they dont do em. I guess the shops that do em want to make the customer happy I guess. lol

That or dont care that their customer may not pass emissions...I'd go with the 8 guys that say no over the 2 that say yes...May tell ya something about those 2 ya know????? Look on the bright side, just wait until 2038 then do it

They don't want to do the work. They need to set up the new O2's on the new piping and it is not as easy as slapping the SIDO on there and changing anything.

That's weird man. I called my local muffler shop and they had no problem with it. As long as you don't cut the cats and strip the O2 sensor, you'll be ok. All they did with mine is cut the pipes right after the cats and weld the new piping in place with the 2 mufflers and then to the tips. I don't see why shops would have a problem with cutting pipes after the cats.

for true duals they all so need to do some custom bending and install hangars and have to figure out how to run the pipe and not interfear with the drivetrane so some times they just dont wanna deal with the extra work.
