My first car was a 96 Plymouth Neon. Was a huge lemon. A plug broke and a piece of the ceramic went into the cylinder. Long story short, it was cheaper to drop anew engine from the junk yard in it. Everything that could possibly go wrong, went wrong. Mice chewed through a bunch of wires and it was toast. Not worth fixin. I bought it when I turned 16 with all of my hard earned cash as well.... totally sucked.

my first truck was a 1998 mazda b4000, 4x4, auto. I bought it with 98k on it. that truck went more places than most jeeps do, and it was STOCK. the water pump went bad a week after i got it, didnt know it. I overheated one day, not too bad because i caught it. But it was just enough to crack the head gasket enough to trip the sensor. it ran until 140k with a cracked gasket, while going through some bad *** jeep trails until a semi ran me off the road. Now she rests in a juck yard somewhere.

1995 Mitsubishi 3000GT

bought it with 130,000 miles on it. problems that i had: water pump went out, timing belt wouldnt stay tight even after replacing the belt tensioner and the belt itself (loose belt caused the front main seal to start leaking), alternator went out, oil pump went out, had a mounting bolt fall out of the brake caliper and when i was coming to a stop the caliper slid up on the back and wedged itself against the wheel causing that tire to lock up, had a very bad smoking problem at a stand still due to bad valve seats, intermittent ignition problem (sometimes the key wouldnt crank the car). im sure ive forgot a few things because it was a constant struggle trying to keep it running right but i still miss that car. when i traded it in it was on its last leg with a little over 200,000 miles but i could still get it up to 140 mph (on a wide open straightaway in west tx with no traffic in sight). even with all the problems, i still miss that car and hopefully ill get another one someday, but if i do its gonna be a vr4 spyder.

First vehicle was a 1948 Dodge pickup - hey - first year of the headlights in the fenders instead of mounted on top. Had a flathead inline 6 218 CID that used Champion J-8 plugs - the same plugs used in the family push mower. Three-on-the-floor, geared so that 73mph was the bestest I could do, well within the generous 80mph rated speedo. Had the charging Ram as a hood ornament, Carter 1bbl carburetor with a glass bowl ceramic fuel filter and oil bath air filter. Gull-wing hood, big-*** fresh air cowl intake. Real running boards - not aftermarket add-ons. Chained tailgate. 6v generator electrical system, so the headlights became nothing brighter than parking lights at stops. Starter button just above the accelerator, which not only engaged the starter motor, but engaged the starter gear manually. Separate full choke and throttle pull-slides in the cab. Same 'Hood' key that also fit the sliding door in back of the house. Arvin heater that would run one out of the cab. 2/60 air conditioning. Vacuum windshield wipers were a hoot - going up a hill, couldn't see squat - going down the hill, flapping so hard one swore we were going airborne. Idled so quiet that many couldn't tell it was even running. Had the opposite of a sunroof - the floor was ate out so badly, could see the road going by.
All seriousness aside, wasn't stylish, got called 'Sanford and Son' a lot (although that was a Ford IIRC), but rain, snow, sleet, hail, rain, bitter cold, blazing heat, or a teenager with a burr in his saddle - it always got me from point A to point B.

1998 F150 XL regular cab, long bed. 4.2 with auto and posi 3.55 rear. Manual windows and locks. What an awesome work truck. It never let me down. I bought it new in 98 when I got my License, then sold it in October. Not 1 problem.
