Well I have been doing some thinking about this whole wheel thing, it was either going put the $60 ceramic pads on, which I hear still have some dust issues, or do the dust shield with vents, which I had done in the past on my 98 Durango, which worked out pretty good. I installed them with approximately 30,000 miles on the clock, and did not have to get the rotors turned till approx. 70,000 miles, then again at about 120,000. By then, it was time for new rotors and pads anyway. The shields are only $28, (I paid $60 back in 2000). they worked perfectly on the old Dodge, so I think I'm going to give it a go on the Ford. I figure new rotors (if not being able to be turned) are a bit over a $100 at the dealer, as opposed to $360 apiece for a wheel (priced out on the Ford accessories website). It is a crapshoot, but I am only only out $28 and a rotor turn, if it does not work out. Heck, I might just throw on the good pads for shi... and giggles too.

Just for giggles I did a Google on wheels, and found a place about a mile from where I work that have factory Ford wheels (Detroit wheel and tire). When I get a chance I want to run up there and see if the chrome versions are the clad style or the early chromed aluminum version. The online price is $225 per. Hmmm......

Funny you should mention them....

I found them online too and saw the wheels. PLEASE let me know in a PM what you find there....I am VERY interested in their wheels if they too are NOT clad like OEM.

WOW....glad I have a source such as you to verify in person! Awesome! I would really appreciate it.

No Problem with checking, probably next week sometime. Working overtime lately, and I am not sure if they are open after 5. First chance I get, I'll be there.
