The SP-509s won't work in 2004-2007 built engines.

SP-509s if your spark plug boots are brown in color....SP-515 if they are black.

I put those e3s in my truck 3 weeks ago and ive had a progressively worsening misfire condition. The motor barely runs on a cold start. MIL came on 2 days ago.... Misses randomly at cruise and light acceleration. Oddly enough at WOT it runs like a champ.
Turns out the e3s use a nickel plated copper electrode. Could this be the issue since ford wants platinum plugs?
I emailed e3 and they say they've not had any problems from 5.4l owners, but want my plugs back for testing...
Any thoughts?

The gap on the e3s looked to be about half of that of the VERY worn out MC plugs which had about 110000m on them.
