What percentage is my factory window tint.
Hi,
I was wondering what my 08 F150 FX4 rear factory window tint percentage is?
I would like to get the front done the same as the back. Thanks for your help

Nothing rattle canned
I've had good luck with 20% when it comes to matching the rears on my wife's Navigator and daughters Jeep GC
I personally have 5% all around...yes, I had them tint over the factory tint.

Factory on the REAR glass is ~40% (can vary on age/year) No state allows FACTORY front tint, as it is not legal in all states. But, I have 8% all the way around (with factoru rear tint) so the rear is limo black and the front is pretty dark. I have been pulled over once and used the "oh, I bought it in Missouri and didnt know it wasn't legal here" excuse.

Not trying to hijack the thread, just a quick question. So where did you guys take your trucks to get the tint? Is there a chain store that does it well? Just don't want to get a tint job that bubbles in a year or so.

Best thing to do is ask around town...
Before you get them tinted, ask them for a warranty on bubbles and "purpling" any decent shop using good tint won't flinch...

Yeah, usually the shops that will do tint are a little "off the map". I don't know why this is, but any big box store (or dealership) won't do front windows if it is illegal in your state.
I found a shop in Des Moines that offers "Lifetime Warranty" on their tinting. It bubbled the next day (they said it might since it was cold out) took it back and with no questions asked they pulled it right in, ripped the old off and put on the new. Less than 20 minutes later I was gone.

I have a guy who does all my windows...he's been tinting for 15+ yrs and has a shop set up at home in his garage.
And you'll get "purpling" if you use cleaner with amonia...use only tint safe window cleaner with NO amonia.
