Default What makes the side wall bulge out on some tires

What makes the side wall bulge out on some tires? Is it ply rating, tread width....something else?

Are you talking about where the tire kinda is over the rim?

Yeah, im ordering some rims that have more backspacing than stock which would cause it to go in more, but they are wider so they will stick out farther than stock

When you look at some tires from the ground up you see the tread, then on some the side wall sticks out past the tread and the rim.

I think i know what you mean. On out other truck the Terra Grapplers do that. Im not really sure why, IMO it seems to add a more offroad look.

i think its the tread with, like if you get a really wide tire and put it on the skinniest wheel that it will fit on, the tire will look like it bulges out more because the wheel is so much skinnier so it will look more inflated on the side wall.
